Hard water is common in many parts of the country. It contains a high concentration of calcium and other minerals which can build up in pipes, water heaters, or on faucets and showerheads. This can cause quite a few issues, which is why many homeowners have chosen to install a water softener to prevent this buildup.
So, how do you get rid of the buildup on your bathroom fixtures? You might be able to do so by soaking them in vinegar.
Naturally, removing all these fixtures is a lot of unnecessary work, so you can soak a towel in vinegar and then tie it around the fixture in question. This will soften up the calcium buildup and allow you to remove it.
If it is difficult to remove, you probably didn’t have enough vinegar on the towel, or you didn’t leave it on for long enough. It should be on there for at least a few minutes.
